Post-Meeting (4/14/11) and Installation Banquet

Hey Key Clubbers!

In case you missed the meeting, let's fill you on the announcements made at the meeting.

Firstly, you missed some awesome cake. Thanks, Linda! Also, it was the first meeting run by this year's newly elected board. Good job and congratulations on your first successfully run Key Club meeting as president!

We had a review of DCON, and we congratulate Nikki, our awesome Kiwanis sponsor, who won the Payton/Kay/Blunt Outstanding Kiwanis Adviser award, and our own past-immediate president, Connie Wong, who won the Matching Grant Scholarship! Let's not forget our own Jeanne Hou, who is now the Lieutenant Governor of Division 3. We're very proud of all of you!

Yesterday, we had our annual Key Club installation banquet at Lee Wing Wah Restaurant to retire the old board members and install the new board members. Our past-immediate Lieutenant Governor, Daisy Hernandez, was in attendance to retire and install the new board. We appreciate her dedication to our club for the past year.

Welcome!!

Hola Key Clubbers!

Welcome to a new year here at Key Club. This year, we're all about you: the Key Clubbers. Thus, we want YOU to tell us what you want to see in us as leaders and what you want us to do differently as far as the logistics of running the club. Also, this year in Key Club is all about helping to build the future. So, our mini-theme this year is going to be about building a stronger foundation to build a better future.

This year, since we're all about communication with one another, we'll be updating the bulletin board (located near red house and across from the library) regularly, updating this blog at least once a week, if not more, sending out more emails, using the Facebook group, and we'll be doing regular newsletters.

For the newsletters, Anna will be responsible for weekly newsletters, and I, Adrienne, will be responsible for doing monthly newsletters.

As far as this blog goes, we will be allowing Key Clubbers to sign up for projects by responding in the comments. That being said, there will be an update after every meeting to tell you what projects are coming up, so if you miss a meeting, you can find the list of projects here. There will also be regular updates on what's going on to fill you in on the happenings of the club.

In regards to the Facebook page, we will be putting the big announcements there. We will try to remind you when projects are coming up so that you guys will remember to attend them if you've signed up.

Like I said at the beginning, this year we will be expanding our communication skills. Get to know your other Key Clubbers and get to know the board members. I know we all want to get to know you!!

Yours in Service,
Adrienne Chung
