First Post of the Summer!

Hello my lovely Key Clubbers!

This summer we will always be keeping you posted on this blog. We're going to tell you all about the projects and fun social event's we'll be having throughout the summer. Also, we'll be posting regular reminders about things like dues and hours too.

Reminders:
-Dues: Dues are $13 again this year and are due to Julia (our treasurer), anytime before November!

-Hours: Cristina (our statistical secretary) would like to remind you that if you go to a project and there is no board member there, make a sign-in sheet and give it to Cristina AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (not a month later). Please don't wait until the last minute to email her and tell her you were there or give her the sign-in sheet because there may be a chance that you don't get your well-deserved hours. On that note, you can either email Cristina at cristinaliang15@gmail.com or email our Whitney Young Key Club email at wykeyclub@gmail.com. ALSO, remember that when you sign the sign-in sheet, make sure to put your official name, which is the one the school recognizes you by. If you don't put your official name, you might not get your hours because the attendance office may get confused.

-Summer sign-ups: If you would like to be put on the summer sign-ups list, please email us at the Key Club email.

Projects and Fun Stuff:

1. North Avenue Beach Social!
    Date: June 16th (Thursday)
Time: 11:00 AM - 5 PM [at the Beach]
    Location: North Ave. Beach
We are going to the beach! It's summer! It's time to have some fun with friends and other Key Clubbers. Bring as many friends as you like and have fun together! Those in the Bridgeport area can join the Key Club board and others at the Halsted Orange Line at 10:30AM and we can all go together.
We will probably also go out and eat afterwards; feel free to join us (but you will pay for your own meal).

2. Camp Independence
    Date: July 21st (Thurs.)
Time: 7 AM - 5 PM (with transportation)
Location: FAR! However, transportation is provided (<that's really rare; just sayin')
    What is it?
Okay, this is a MAJOR project for Spastic Paralysis. You will be going to a very far away place where there's a camp, which is basically where ALL our club money goes to. You will get a nice tour around Camp Independence, talk to some of the campers who have Spina Bifida (disease) and benefit from this camp, then eat lunch, attend a Spastic Paralysis meeting, and end with a mini-service project. This project has limited availability and only 4 members can go, but also, we are giving priority to the underclassmen.

That's about all we have for you right now, but don't forget to keep checking back here regularly for announcements and new projects/social events! You know the drill, sign up here or email us at our email!

Have a safe and fun summer!

Yours in Service,
Adrienne Chung
